Role

Prepared and led participant interviews. Assisted in forming insights to lead ideation. Created wireframe, and prototypes for testing.

According to The Trevor Project, almost 57% of students in the LGBTQ+ community have experienced emotional abuse. It is additionally reported that LGBTQ+ students who felt a high social support, reported attempting suicide at less than half the rate of others. These statistics show a need for more community support, especially for queer students who have experienced an unhealthy relationship, whether platonic, romantic of familial.

The Challenge

We saw an opportunity to provide LGBTQ+ University students with resources to build, and strenghten their support systems. This led us to our how might we question. How might we ensure that LGBTQ+ university students have more access to support (e.g pyschological, emotional) after experiencing an unhealthy relationship?

The Opportunity

Q.Art is an online art sharing community forum. Along with being a platform where students are able to express themselves, through any medium of their choice. It is a moderated platform working with partnerships through The Trevor Project, and teaming up with other queer art communities. This safe space art playground allows students to connect on emotional levels, and feel more togetherness within their struggles.
